European Week of Regions and Cities
The European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) is the most important annual event - held in Brussels - organised by the Committee of the Regions and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), for European regional and local authorities to exchange experiences and good practices on European policies.
The EWRC gathers each year around 6.000 participants from local, regional, national authorities and European institutions as well as experts and academics. It hosts more than 100 workshops and debates, exhibitions and networking events. The EWRC represents an unique opportunity to launch political messages and exchange good practices and know-how in the field of regional development.
Under the European Week of Regions and Cities Sardinia Region's EU Liaison Office organizes every year – in partnership with other EU island regions - high level conferences, workshops and networking events with the view to share common objectives and challenges of island territories and identify specific compensatory regulatory measures compensate for insularity structural, natural and permanent handicaps.
